About Leanne

Hi, I’m Leanne.

I have lived in the Nudgee Electorate for most of my life, and am passionate about our local community.

I grew up in Banyo, lived in Nundah for many years, and along with my husband Ian, I am now raising my two young boys in Nudgee. I attended Virginia State Primary and was School Captain of Banyo State High (now Earnshaw State College).

As the daughter of a RAAF pilot and engineer, I spent my early years growing up in a Defence Force family and learnt the values of community service.

I am an active supporter of our many local community and sporting groups, School P&C and P&F associations, Neighbourhood Watch, and neighbourhood centres.

I also have the great pleasure of being Co-Chair and Patron of the School of Hard Knocks, a member of the ACU Banyo Community Chapter, a member of the Brisbane Lions Advisory Council, and a former board member of Bravehearts, and the Nundah Activity Centre.

Since being elected in 2015, my number one priority has been to give our community the strong voice it deserves in State Parliament. I have been proud to deliver funding for new and improved school facilities, road safety, public transport and community services for our community.

Some of my proudest achievements for our community have been securing funding for a new $6 million Performing Arts Centre at Wavell State High School, improved senior school facilities and guidance officer hours at Earnshaw State College, and road safety improvements around Boondall State School and St Pius Catholic Primary.

As a passionate local, I have also campaigned strongly for improved bus and train services and facilities, including additional parking at Nudgee, Banyo and Nundah train stations, as well as a new pedestrian footbridge at Banyo.

I am passionate about serving our local community.
