About the Nudgee Electorate

Our local electorate of Nudgee covers some of Brisbane’s bets suburbs: Banyo, Nudgee, Nudgee Beach, Virginia, Boondall, Northgate and Nundah, as well as parts of Zillmere, Geebung and Wavell Heights. It first established in 1960 and today is home to an estimated 55,000 people, including around 37,000 electors.

We are fortunate to be home to many great educational institutions, including 15 state and catholic schools and the Brisbane campus of Australian Catholic University. It also includes more than 100 community and sporting groups, offering a vast array of services and opportunities for community participation.

This part of Brisbane has a long and proud history as a manufacturing and industrial hub and remains the home to the iconic Arnott’s Biscuits and Golden Circle Factories. Today, we have a diverse and vibrant local economy, with more than 4,000 businesses operating across the electorate, including a fantastic range of restaurants, cafes and retail outlets.

We are lucky enough to have many great parks and public spaces across our part of Brisbane, including Nudgee Beach, the Boondall Wetlands, the Boondall Entertainment Centre and Kalinga Park, all of which have been enjoyed by locals for generations.

I am a lifelong local, having grown up in Banyo and attended Virginia State School and Banyo State High (now Earnshaw State College). Since the 2015 election, I have had the privilege of representing our area in the Queensland state parliament.

For more information on our local schools, please take a look at my schools directory.  You can also follow me on Facebook or Instagram, or join my mailing list to keep up to date with what’s happening in our local community, including our small businesses, community groups and sporting clubs.

Also, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with my office if there is something we can help you with, especially if it’s a state government matter.
