Banyo Karate family off to World Cup
3 Banyo siblings are off to the Go-Kan-Ryu Karate World Cup to test their skill and discipline against other talented young students of ‘the way’.
St Pius Primary School students Ava and Jesse Harbourne, and Kedron State High School student Noah Harbourne, all qualified to compete at the Go-Kan-Ryu Karate World Cup to be held on the Gold Coast in August.
Ava, Jesse and Noah qualified for the international tournament through dedicated study and mastery of Karate throughout their 2016 and 2017 seasons, having achieved a total of 13 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze at earlier competitions/trials.
State Member for Nudgee Leanne Linard congratulated the siblings for their dedication to karate.
“As a student of karate myself, it is wonderful to see fellow Nudgee locals taking on the world in this challenging but tremendously rewarding martial art. And it was an absolute pleasure to be able to support their registration to take part in the competition”.
Ava, Jesse and Noah will be competing alongside participants from all over Australia, as well as New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Go Ava, Jesse and Noah!!
