Flashing Safety Lights Delivered for local schools
In a big win for the Nudgee electorate, three local schools will receive flashing school zone signs in the coming weeks.
The signs would be installed at Geebung State School and St Kevin’s School at Geebung as part of an integrated safety response at the two schools, and at Our Lady of the Angels’ School at Wavell Heights.
“Bright orange, flashing signs are an effective alert and reminder for drivers to slow down in school zones as children arrive and leave school,” she said.
“This could save a life or prevent someone from being seriously injured.”
“Soon after being elected, I met with the Minister for Road Safety, the Hon. Mark Bailey to raise concerns over safety at a number of local schools and to request flashing lights for these school zones”, Ms Linard said.
“It is wonderful to see flashing lights delivered for these school communities and to know that our kids will be safer because of them” said Ms Linard.
