Would free kindy help your family?
The Queensland Government is looking at making kindergarten free for everyone in Queensland.
At present around 14,000 Queensland families, including many in our community, have access to free kindy, while another 26,000 get it at a discounted rate.
I want every family in my community to have the opportunity for their young one to get a great start in life, and that’s why we are looking at free kindy for everyone.
And with more people experiencing national cost of living pressures, this will help with the family budget.
The early years are absolutely critical to a child’s future, and we want our kindy services to be both exceptional and accessible.
Kindy programs are delivered in the year before school, typically children who turn 4 before 30 June of the year they are enrolling.
This is your chance to have your say. Would free kindy help you and your family?
