Geebung’s Laurelle Williams Celebrated for 25 Years Long Service as JP

State Member for Nudgee Leanne Linard recently awarded Geebung local, Laurelle Williams, with a Silver Certificate in recognition of her 25 years of service as a Justice of the Peace in Queensland.

Mrs Williams is a third generation Justice of the Peace, with her father and grandfather both serving before her.

Mrs Williams, a community midwife, said it was her belief in community service that drew her to be sworn in as a JP.

Laurelle volunteers her JP services for the North East Baptist Church in Nundah, where she also volunteers as child health care nurse, and also publicly lists her number on the Department of Justice website”, Ms Linard said

“Laurelle’s passion for community service should be celebrated, and I am so pleased to have been able to present this award to such a worthy recipient”.

If you or someone you know has provided 25, 40, 50 or 60 years of service as a Justice of the Peace or Commissioner for Declarations, contact the Justices of the Peace Branch of the Department of Justice at [email protected] to apply for a long-service certificate.
