New playground at Zillmere State School in full swing
On Monday I had the pleasure of opening the new playground at Zillmere State School to a very eager audience of students.
“The new playground equipment will replace the existing timber playground and will be a wonderful new resource for all students at the school from Prep to Year 6,” said Leanne Linard, State Member for Nudgee.
“Funding of $58,788 was allocated in last year’s State Budget through the Smart School Subsidy Scheme for the project, and it was a pleasure to work with School Principal Lyn Wood and the Department of Education to see the new playground delivered”, Ms Linard said.
At the official opening, all the students dutifully listened as School Principal Lyn and I said a few words and then the Prep students and I had the honour of ‘christening’ the park. Having slide races/testing the equipment is all in a day’s work for a local MP!
