Nudgee Beach Environmental Education Centre awarded for excellence
Member for Nudgee Leanne Linard has congratulated Nudgee Beach Environmental Education Centre for their Showcase Award for Excellence in Schools.
“The Showcase Awards are the most prestigious award program for state schools in Queensland”, Ms Linard said.
“The school won the QSuper Showcase Award for Excellence in the Senior Years for their program Deadly Science.
“It’s great to our local Environmental Education Centre leading the way in delivering innovating education programs which benefit students in the local community.
The Nudgee Beach Environmental Centre has been providing high quality environmental education programs for learners, from Prep to Year 12, since 1989.
The Centre is visited by hundreds of students from schools across South East Queensland each year, who engage in experience-based learning experiences on the Nudgee Beach foreshore, Boondall Wetlands and Nudgee Waterholes.
The 38 regional Showcase Award winners were chosen from among 100 submissions, each being awarded $1,000 grants.
State finalists will be selected from the regional award winners and will be announced on 1 August 2016.
