Nudgee Electorate community groups to share in $109,376.90 of funding
Four community groups in the Nudgee Electorate, will benefit from the $13.7 million distributed State-wide as part of Round 96 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
Member for Nudgee Leanne Linard MP congratulated Asperger Services Australia, Be Uplifted Breast Cancer Charity, Connected Inc and Muscular Dystrophy Queensland, who will receive a share in over $109,000 of funding.
“The Gambling Community Benefit Fund is the state’s largest one-off grants program and provides about $53 million a year to our vital community groups,” Ms Linard said.
“It is wonderful to see these groups receiving funds that will allow them to improve their facilities and purchase equipment so that they can continue their important work in the community”.
The GCBF grants are worth between $500 and $35,000 and applications are open to not-for-profit, community-based organisations. There are four rounds a year.
Applications are now open for Round 98, closing on August 31.
“August 31 is also the closing date for Expressions of Interest for our special Commemorative grants to mark the 25th year of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund in 2019,” Mr Linard said.
“For that special, extra round in 2019, we will offer much larger grants – 10 x $100,000 grants, and one grant of $250,000.
“That amount of funding would be a game changer for most community groups and I’d encourage organisations to get their Expressions of Interest in by the looming deadline of August 31,” she said.
