Nundah Village Festival Craft and Cooking Competition
Calling all our local cooks and craft aficionados:
I want to showcase the talents of our community at this year’s Nundah Festival so I’ve decided to sponsor a cooking and crafty competition to put our tastiest local treats and best local crafts on display.
The competition will include both adult and children’s categories (up to age 16) with a range of categories to suit every talent. The categories are:
Craft
- Functional Craft – blankets, afghans, clothing, homewares. Anything thats functional. Any medium (crochet, knitting, sewing, etc).
- Visual Craft – knick knacks, wall hangings, needle point artwork, dioramas etc. Please stick to craft mediums for this category. (We strongly encourage you to enter the Nundah Village Festival Art Show instead with any fine art paintings or sculptures)
Cooking
- Scones, Biscuits, Slices – savory or sweet goodies accepted
- Cakes – large cakes or cup cakes.
* Please bring along an ingredients list when dropping off your entry.
Entries are now open and will close on the 4th of September, 2023. To register your participation, complete the online entry application form available on the following link: https://www.cognitoforms.com/LeanneLinardMP/CraftCookingCompetitionEntryForm
Once registered, please drop off your entry items to the Nudgee Electorate Office between Monday 4th to Friday 8th of September. Our office is open from 9 am to 5 pm. Don’t worry about your cooking entries; we have refrigeration available to keep them fresh.
All entries will be proudly displayed in the Platform 14 alleyway during the Nundah Festival on Sunday 10th September. The esteemed panel of judges, which we’ll announce soon, will assess the entries and announce the winners on the same day. If you’re a winner, we’ll notify you via a phone call and email.
We have a generous prize pool of $1440, with prizes for each sub-category as follows:
1st place – $100
2nd place – $50
3rd place – $30.
The glory and bragging rights, however, are priceless!
This competition is a fabulous way to foster community spirit, display local talent, and enjoy some friendly competition. If you have any questions or need additional information, please reach out to our office at
