‘We are Queensland’ grant to support North East Brisbane community
The Nundah Community Enterprises Cooperative has been awarded over $19,000 through the Queensland Government’s ‘We Are Queensland’ grants program to hold picnics in the park for the local community.
Member for Nudgee Leanne Linard has congratulated the NCEC on being awarded funds through the ‘We Are Queensland’ program which is aimed at supporting Queenslanders to be more involved in their communities, as well as encouraging a society where everyone is respected.
“I thank NCEC for the work they do in the local area, bringing people together and creating important links between individuals, families and the broader community,” Ms Linard said.
NCEC founder, Richard Warner, said they are excited to organize a series of picnics in the park for the local community with the aim of bringing diverse communities together around food, fun and storytelling.
“We want these events to spark conversations on how we want our future local community to be,” Mr Warner said.
“Watch this space for a great event coming to your local park soon”.
Over $1 million has been awarded as part of the We Are Queensland grants program, which launched in July this year and offered up to $20,000 in individual grants.
